Description

Whoville Cookies are festive treats perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Red or green food coloring
  • Powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients.
  6. Tint dough with red or green food coloring.
  7. Roll dough into small balls and coat in powdered sugar.
  8. Place on baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes until set.
  9. Cool before serving.
