Description

A fun and easy Halloween cake with vibrant swirled colors inside, perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • Green, purple, and black gel food coloring
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Candy eyes
  • Assorted Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a Bundt pan.
  2. Combine cake mix, sour cream, vegetable oil, eggs, water, and pudding mix in a large bowl. Beat until smooth.
  3. Divide batter into three bowls. Add green, purple, and black food coloring to each, mixing until vibrant.
  4. Stir mini chocolate chips into each colored batter.
  5. Pour spoonfuls of each colored batter into the Bundt pan, layering randomly.
  6. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the colors together.
  7. Tap the pan on the counter to remove air bubbles.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  11. Divide the glaze into three bowls and color each with green, purple, and black.
  12. Drizzle the glazes over the cooled cake.
  13. While the glaze is wet, add candy eyes and Halloween sprinkles.
  14. Let the glaze set for about 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
