Description
A fast and flavorful Quick Korean Beef Bowl made with ground beef, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil, served over warm rice for an easy weeknight meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 5 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 1/2 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 6 green onions (chopped, divided)
- 4 cups hot cooked brown rice
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Ensure all components are measured and prepared in advance. Chop the green onions, crush the garlic cloves, and grate the fresh ginger.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it into small pieces until evenly browned. Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
- Stir in the crushed garlic, grated ginger, and toasted sesame oil. Cook for approximately 2 minutes, or until the mixture becomes fragrant.
- Add the reduced-sodium soy sauce, light brown sugar, and crushed red pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine thoroughly. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 7 minutes, enabling the beef to absorb the sauce.
- Mix in half of the chopped green onions, reserving the remainder for garnish.
- Spoon the seasoned beef mixture over hot cooked brown rice. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and the remaining chopped green onions. Serve immediately.
