A delicious orange-flavored cake inspired by creamsicles.
Ingredients

- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 cup orange soda
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup fresh orange juice
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp orange juice
- 1 tsp orange zest
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 pan or two 8-inch rounds.
- In a bowl, whisk together cake mix, orange soda, oil, eggs, orange zest, and vanilla.
- Pour into the pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely.
- Mix orange juice and sugar for the syrup. Warm slightly until sugar melts. Brush over the warm cake for extra moisture and flavor (optional).
- Spread the creamsicle frosting over the cooled cake.
- Chill 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Use fresh oranges for better flavor.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
