Description

This Old Fashioned Fudge is a classic treat with a rich chocolate flavor.


Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Combine cocoa powder, sugar, and salt in a heavy-bottomed saucepan.
  2. Add milk and corn syrup, and stir to combine. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Heat to the soft-ball stage (234°F). Use a candy thermometer to monitor the temperature.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract.
  5. Beat the mixture until thickened and no longer shiny (5-10 minutes).
  6. Pour into a parchment-lined 9×9-inch baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. Let cool at room temperature for 1 hour before slicing into squares.
