- 6 to 8 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
- Spread the apples evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and melted butter. Mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle topping evenly over the apples and press down gently.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the topping is golden and the apples are bubbling.
- Let it cool for at least 10–15 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
