Description

Garlic Butter Honey BBQ Beef Tacos combine savory beef with a sweet and smoky honey BBQ sauce, finished with a creamy taco sauce and fresh toppings in soft tortillas.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or beef strips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 6 soft taco tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add beef to the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking up if using ground beef. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Stir in 1/4 cup honey, 1/3 cup BBQ sauce, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let simmer for 2-3 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  4. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 tablespoon BBQ sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika. Whisk until smooth to make the taco sauce.
  5. Warm tortillas in a skillet or microwave. Spoon beef mixture onto each tortilla. Drizzle with taco sauce. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and cilantro if desired. Fold and serve promptly.

Notes

  • Try ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Use shredded beef or pork for different flavors.
  • Adjust honey and BBQ sauce in the taco sauce to your preference.
  • Add hot sauce or cayenne for extra heat.
  • Use hard taco shells for a crunchy texture.
  • Prepare beef mixture up to 3 days ahead and refrigerate.
  • Freeze leftover beef for up to 3 months and thaw before reheating.
