Description

Indulge in these scrumptious Decadent Pecan Pie Bars that combine the richness of pecans with a buttery crust, perfect for any occasion. These bars offer all the classic comfort of traditional pecan pie in a convenient, easy-to-handle format.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Press this mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9 inch baking pan, leveling it out evenly.
  4. Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until it starts to get golden around the edges.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Stir in the pecan halves gently.
  6. Once the crust is done and has cooled a bit, pour the pecan mixture over the crust, spreading it evenly.
  7. Place the pan back in the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and not jiggly in the middle.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool in the pan before slicing them into squares.

Notes

  • Use fresh pecans for the best texture and flavor.
  • Do not overmix the filling; whisk just enough to combine ingredients.
  • Keep an eye on baking time as ovens can vary.
  • Allow bars to cool before slicing for better structure.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
