Description

A comforting and easy-to-make Cheesy Meatloaf Tater Tot Bake, perfect for a family dinner. This dish features a savory meatloaf base topped with crispy tater tots and melted cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 1 (28 oz) bag frozen tater tots
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (plus more for topping, optional)
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, diced onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, 1 cup cheddar cheese, and ketchup. This combination forms your cheesy meatloaf mixture.
  3. Spread the meatloaf mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish, pressing it down slightly to form an even layer for your cheesy meatloaf.
  4. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the top of the meat mixture. This creates the tater tot topping for your cheesy meatloaf.
  5. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until the meatloaf is fully cooked and tater tots are golden.
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheese over the tater tots.
  7. Return to oven and bake an additional 5–7 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let sit for 5 minutes before slicing and serving your Cheesy Meatloaf Tater Tot Bake.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use quality ground beef for the best flavor.
  • Do not overmix the meatloaf ingredients to ensure a tender texture.
  • For even cooking, spread the meat mixture evenly in the baking dish.
  • Feel free to customize with your favorite vegetables or spices.
  • Let the dish sit before slicing to maintain its shape.
