Description

Balsamic Strawberry Caprese is a fresh dish with strawberries, mozzarella, and basil, drizzled with balsamic reduction. It’s ideal as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Fresh Mozzarella Cheese
  • Fresh Basil
  • Balsamic Reduction
  • Olive Oil (Optional)
  • Black Pepper (Optional)
  • Sea Salt (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash strawberries under cold water and pat dry.
  2. Slice strawberries into ¼ inch thick slices.
  3. Slice mozzarella into rounds similar to the strawberries, or drain mozzarella balls.
  4. Pat mozzarella dry to remove excess moisture.
  5. On a platter, alternate layers of sliced strawberries and mozzarella.
  6. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the top.
  7. Sprinkle fresh basil leaves for added flavor and color.

Notes

  • Use ripe, juicy strawberries that are bright red.
  • Fresh mozzarella is recommended for its soft, creamy texture.
  • Tear basil leaves to release their oils and enhance flavor.
  • Simmer balsamic vinegar to make your own balsamic reduction.
  • Drizzle olive oil for added richness.
  • Add freshly cracked black pepper for a bit of spice.
  • A pinch of sea salt can balance the flavors.
