- 1 pound Beef (flank steak or sirloin) (Pounded thin for optimal texture)

- 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (Chopped)
- 1/4 cup Fresh Basil (Chopped)
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs (Gluten-free if needed)
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil (Can substitute with vegetable oil)
- 1 medium Onion (Yellow or sweet)
- 28 ounces Crushed Tomatoes (Passata can be a smoother alternative)
- 1 teaspoon Oregano
- 1 teaspoon Sugar (Adjust for less sweetness)
- 1 teaspoon Salt (Adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper (Adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Pound the Beef by placing the beef slices between plastic wrap and pounding to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Mix the Filling in a bowl with breadcrumbs, parsley, basil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Fill and Roll the beef with the filling and secure with toothpicks or twine.
- Sear the Rolls in olive oil over medium-high heat until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
- Sauté Onions and Garlic in the pot until the onion softens.
- Prepare the Sauce by adding crushed tomatoes, oregano, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer the Braciole for 1.5 to 2 hours until tender, adding water if needed.
- Serve the braciole sliced in sauce, optionally garnished with Parmesan cheese.
